TCHC Scholarships Awarded
The TCHC Scholarship committee has awarded 9 scholarships in all for the U.S. Tai Chi Workshop to be held in Tacoma, WA, June 7-12, 2010.We had 32 applications this year which made the selection challenging. Five $725 scholarships were awarded; fortunately, the TCHC Board of Directors were able to commit funds to create four additional $350 scholarships. We still had to deny some very deserving applications.The $725 scholarships were awarded to:Sarah Birger, Rebecca Gleason, Elizabeth Hill, Tracy Keibler, and Ken Romey
The $350 scholarships were awarded to:Joanne Boehme, Linda Ebeling, Janice Smallwood, and Lee Willis
The committee was inspired by the enthusiasm for the Tai Chi for Health program expressed by the applicants and impressed by what many of the applicants are doing to promote the tai chi in their communities. Thanks to all the applicants for their effort and enthusiasm.

ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIPSEach year the Tai Chi for Health Community sponsors scholarships to the annual USA Tai Chi Workshop held in June. The scholarships assist individuals desiring to learn about and share tai chi for health in their communities. Generally, scholarship opportunities are announced in the Fall and applications are due by February 1st of the following year.
